Web Design Portfolio

A selection of some of our recent and most notable previous projects.

Flog My Property

Flog My Property is an online estate agency based in South Liverpool, offering home-hunters and sellers alike a radically different experience when moving house. Its online interface offers an alternative to the traditional estate agents' service at a fraction of the standard cost.

The web site is great for buyers and sellers alike: buyers can view detailed information about properties for sale in their area including photos and video tours, arrange viewings and make offers online. Sellers can monitor interest in their property, receive and respond to offers, set a reserve price and alter their asking price - all with just a few clicks.

As well as an extensive member account management console including newsletter mailing system, the site also features a full Content Management System with rich-text HTML editing, allowing the site's administrators to update the site content without having to call on the web designers for every alteration.

Within the admin area, each administrative task requires appropriate authorisation, and the most senior admins can grant different authorisation levels to different admins, allowing them to control access to certain functions.

Hilltop Praise

Mary Datchelor Old Girls Club

This is a web site for former pupils from a London school which closed in 1984. It includes a members area where the site admins can publish private documents, meeting reports and minutes etc. for viewing by the club members either as plain text or as a PDF upload. After signing up, each member's account must be approved by an admin before they can log in.

Recent news articles or other important information is displayed on the front page in blocks which can be updated by site admins without the need for any technical expertise.

As well as an extensive member account management console, the site also features a full Content Management System with rich-text HTML editing, as well as a photo gallery feature which allows the admins to create albums and upload images from within the admin area.

Within the admin area, each administrative task requires appropriate authorisation, and the most senior admins can grant different authorisation levels to different admins, allowing them to control access to certain functions.

Hilltop Praise, Liverpool

Hilltop Praise is the regular evening service at St. Matthew and St. James' Church, Mossley Hill, Liverpool. The requirements of the church are very similar to that of the Christian Union, meaning that this site is very similar in function to the CU web site.

The site embodies the same Content Management System to allow church leaders to post up-to-date information, and the same email registration system to allow church-goers to receive weekly church notices to their email inbox.

Plans for the future include a multimedia section where visitors can download a podcast of each week's sermon, and a new and updated visual front-end.

Liverpool City Christian Union (now discontinued)

This web site was produced for the Christian Union which is jointly run by Liverpool's three universities. The web site consists of three main areas:

  • Firstly, the main body of the site is a simple template-driven site containing the site's content.
  • Secondly, the site has a password-protected admin area, which allows the society's executive committee to update the site's contents themselves, using the Content Management System (CMS).
  • Thirdly, the site features an automatic mailing list system, allowing the society president to send out weekly notices via email to all members, who can subscribe and unsubscribe from the notices themselves.

In conjunction with the site's dedicated CMS, the most recent edition of the weekly notices is also saved to the appropriate page on the main web site, with the additional option of extra one-off emails to be sent which bypass this function.

Martin Troedel Photography (now discontinued)

We developed an online marketing system for Martin Troedel, a photographer who specialises in wedding photography as well as photography services for other corporate events and more general artistic and stock photography.

The web site allows the photographer to upload his photo sets to the site, which automatically converts them into web-friendly, low-res previews with (optional) copyright watermarks. Customers can then browse the galleries and choose which photographs they would like to order, either for digital download or as a professionally-produced print. The site owner has the option to place password-protection on certain galleries, such as wedding photographs, to control who is able to view them.

This site embodies various web applications developed by caeus.com, including member area and customer account management, restricted access control, photo management software and a Content Management System which allows the site operator to update content and add new pages without the need for specialist technical expertise.
