Hard Disk

Data recovery is a very delicate process, so in order to maximise our chances of success, we request that you adhere to these guidelines:

  1. As soon as you become aware that you have lost important data, please TURN OFF your computer IMMEDIATELY. Do not continue to use the hard drive, and under no circumstances should you write or save anything to the disc, as this may overwrite your lost data forever.
  2. Unless carried out by an experienced technician, attempts to recover data yourself with software utilities may in fact end up overwriting and destroying your lost data, meaning it would be lost FOREVER.
It is strongly recommended that you do not attempt recovery of lost data yourself.
  3. If you believe your hard drive may have suffered physical damage, please contact us to discuss the likelihood of data recovery before you send the drive.
  4. If the drive is physically damaged, you should never, under any circumstances, power up or attempt to open the drive.
  5. Please tell us if you think your hard disc may contain a virus.
