How do you get my data back?
Data is stored on your hard drive using millions of miniscule magnets. When data is erased from your hard drive, all that is erased is the record of that data's existence - the data itself can remain on the drive (in a fragile state) for some time. By using advanced techniques the magnetism of your hard drive can be analysed and the original data can gradually be reassembled to recover the lost files. See these important guidelines which must be followed in order to maximise chances of successful data recovery.
How long does this take?
This largely depends on factors such as how long ago the data was lost, how much the drive has been used since then, the way in which it was lost and the size of the hard drive on which it is stored. We aim to have all all orders processed within 7 working days of receiving the drive, or we offer a priority service which guarantees** to have the data recovered within 48 hours.
How much does this cost?
Data recovery with most other companies is notoriously expensive. However, we believe that after a potentially crippling disaster such as the loss of vital data, you shouldn't be crippled again by a huge bill. For our current price list, see the main Data Recovery page.
What if you can't get my data back?
We offer a full money-back guarantee* in the event that we are not able to recover any of your data. It must be shown that the computer was not used extensively after the loss of the data, and that no "undelete" programs have been installed, as these can actually end up destroying all chances of recovering the data.
