Hard Disk

How do you destroy my data?

Using techniques approved by the US Department of Defence, we will take your hard drives (or other storage media) and submit the data to an attack so frenzied that even the most determined criminal would be wasting his time. Even if he examined the hard drive's write cache or analysed the magnetism on the surface of the hard drive's platter!

How long does this take?

We aim to have all all orders processed within 7 working days of receiving the drive, or we offer a priority service which guarantees** to have the data destroyed within 48 hours.

Isn't it better just to smash my drive to pieces?

Hard drives are surprisingly good at keeping our data safe which is, of course, usually a good thing as we don't want to lose precious information. So, if you smash or burn the hard drive and destroy a circuit board on the back, a criminal who finds your drive could just purchase an identical hard drive, swap the circuit boards and then gain access to your data. These "lo-tech" methods of data erasing make popular and interesting news stories, but in reality they do not compare to a proper and deliberate erasing technique which repeatedly overwrites every single bit on the drive, with absolutely no evidence of data recovery ever having been successful after such a process.
